My first book of many...
Last week I met a woman on a dating website and we hit it off real well. We loved each others profiles, we messaged each other and seemed to be compatible and finally, we called and confirmed that we both wanted a FTF (Face To Face)As we were deciding where to go, I found out that her children were away for the week and she was "free" for the next seven days, and then I came up with a brilliant idea, why not date each day for the next seven days and really get to know each other before her kids return the following Monday night, then we could write a book on the experience from both points of view.
I explained that if we proceeded with my idea, at the end of 7 days, she would have 3 options...
1. Kick me to the curb and have no impact to her kids.
2, We keep dating incognito, and if and when she feels ready, I get introduced to the kids
3. This go so well that she introduces me to her kids as their new Dad when they we pick them up at the airport.
She agreed and thought it would be fun and our first date was dinner and a movie, which BTW went extremely well for a first date from a free dating site. We exchanged dating site horror stories, ex-spouse horror stories, talked about our kids and almost missed the start of the movie since we were having such a great time together.
The previous week, I met a Self Published Author and I found out about an Amazon self publishing web site that was free and I could make money even if I only sell one book, I fond the site, created an account, complete with tax forms and my bank account number so they can deposit my royalties. If someone orders a real book, they print it on demand and ship it the next day, even if its only one book, The book will also be available as an eBook and again, for each copy sold, I make money with no initial investment of any kind except for my time and talent. I put in the book title and a description for the book jacket and a publishing date of 10/10/2015, just in time for the Christmas buying season. I think this book would make a great stocking stuffier.
I hit enter and it was done, with the next step being uploading the book cover art and the book itself in their format via the format word processor that they provide free of charge. I downloaded it and was ready to go, so I saved my session so I can upload the book when I was ready. Then the site came up with a deadline of September 24th, 2015 to get the book published in time for the 10/10/2015 publishing date and that pre-orders of the book are being accepted starting today.
So, I haven't checked yet, but I may have already sold a copy of the book if someone pre-ordered it. I'll have to check, but if I get a pre-order, I'm committed. No pressure at all... OMG...
Today is our 6th date and so far, I'd say option 1 is defiantly off the table. The first 5 dates and the time in between the dates have been magical to say the least. I met her BFF's on our 4th date and she met my Mom during out 5th date. (Details to follow in the book, this is called a teaser)
Today, for our 6th date, we were invited, as a couple, to one of her BFF's Dad's Birthday BBQ, and for tomorrows 7th and final 7 dates in 7 days, we are repeating our second date because we loved the Burgers at the Bar we went to. It's been a great week so far and we really got to know each other and enjoyed the time we had together. I felt like a teenager with their parents on vacation and being able to use the house for "recreational activities" while they were gone, sort of like Risky Business without the big party or the Egg incident.

P.S. So far, I'm thinking this book would make a great movie, so watch out world, ACE is ready to take you on...LOL...OMG...LMFAO. I'm thinking Albert Brooks for my part and Meryl Streep for the female lead, I loved their chemistry in "Defending Your Life". If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it.
P.S. I have some news about the ending of this book, We broke up last week the day before her Birthday. It seems that I was competing with another man and the lesser man won. At least I have an ending to my book. After about 18 dates in 25 days, we broke up via text messaging, ironically, that how we started the relationship, via text after meeting on an Online Dating Site. Anyway, now that I have an ending, I better get cracking if I am to make my 10/10/2015 publishing date. :-)
P.P.S. I have meet the Love of my Life and I have let the deadline slip, but I am committed to writing this book and will come up with a new deadline and stick to it. She has even offered to help me write the book and collaborate giving me the woman's point of view. Thanks Carrie...
